Mary Russell graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in Theatre.  She has been with the Atlanta Shakespeare Company since she was part of the ’03-’04 apprentice company.  Some of her favorite roles with the company include Kate in The Taming of the Shrew, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and Anne Boleyn in Anne of the Thousand Days. She currently works full time at the ASC as an Artistic Associate and Education Artist.  Working through the ASC’s Education Department, she has directed The Tempest, Merchant of Venice, and Comedy of Errors for the Shakespeare Intensive for Teens, Romeo and Juliet for the Woodward Academy Residency, and was a teaching artist with the Shakespeare Superheroes Summer Camp.  She has also taught a countless number of grade school students throughout the southeast with the ASC’s own “Playshop’s In Performance.” Other companies she has performed with are MultiShades, Onstage Atlanta, Turning Point Theatre Company, The Collective Project, and The Fern Theatre Company. On camera credits include ABC’s Final Witness and the film The Good Lie with Reese Witherspoon.
