Mary Russell graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in Theatre.  She has been with the Atlanta Shakespeare Company since she was part of the ’03-’04 apprentice company.  Some of her favorite roles with the company have been Kate in “The Taming of the Shrew,” and Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet,” and Anne Boleyn in “Anne of the Thousand Days.” She currently works full time at the ASC as an Artistic Associate and Education Artist.  Working through the ASC’s Education Department, she has directed “The Tempest” and “Merchant of Venice” for the Shakespeare Intensive for Teens, “Romeo and Juliet” for the Woodward Academy Residency, and has been a teaching artist with the Shakespeare Superheroes Summer Camp.  She has also taught a countless number of grade school students throughout the southeast with the ASC’s own “Playshop’s In Performance” workshops.  Other companies she has preformed with are MultiShades, Onstage Atlanta, and Turning Point Theatre Company.  You may also have seen her in various commercials and independent movies around town.
