Events at the Tavern: Atlanta Chamber Players: World Premiere & “Blue Danube” (May 9)

The Atlanta Chamber Players close their season at the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse with a dynamic program that includes something for everyone! Strauss’s Blue Danube waltz is one of the best-known pieces of music worldwide, and we will hear a rollicking arrangement for piano 4-hands. Turina’s Piano Quartet shows off his Andalusian roots, with Spanish folk music style and flare throughout the piece.

The ACP commissioned Atlanta-based composer Richard Prior for a new work. Prior is an active composer, conductor, and composition professor at Emory University. His Piano Trio “intimations of immortality” is inspired by the world of literature and poetry - namely Wordsworth, Dante, Shakespeare, and Dylan Thomas.
