Cindy was made in Japan, born in Alabama but was raised right here in Atlanta from the age of 5. She graduated from Therrell High and attended Middle Georgia College in Cochran. After 10+ years of working in the health care industry as an administrative assistant and medical transcriptionist, she stumbled upon the world of theater. While working as the props mistress on her first show ever in 1984 with Acme Theatre, she met Jeff Watkins. Shortly thereafter, Jeff took over the reins of the Atlanta Shakespeare Company and offered to train her, on-the-job, as a stage manager. So now she tells everyone that she is the only graduate of “The Jeff Watkins School of Stage Management.” In the early days, the company performed at Manuel’s Tavern, Excelsior Mill (now called Masquerade) and The Roxy Theatre in Buckhead. We only did a few shows a year, so Cindy continued to work full-time at a local mental health facility. She joined Actor’s Equity in 1986 and then in 1992 she made the decision to change careers permanently and has been with ASC ever since.
