As a lifelong admirer of Shakespeare, I remember checking out and reading the brand new copy of Romeo and Juliet from the Appomattox Middle School Library in the mid-’80s. I even remember the librarian saying that it was above my reading level. And yes, it was a struggle at first, but I got my first taste of the Bard, reading the play out loud. I learned then that his words were best heard, brought to life in voice and action, rather than just read.

I began my life in Food Service a few years later, which started me down the path that I follow today. I continued in foodservice through college and after, arriving in Atlanta in 1999 after receiving my BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in Graphic Design.

I first arrived at the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse in 2003, volunteering to see a production of “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum”. I continued to volunteer for several shows until I started as a member of the kitchen staff.

In my current position as Kitchen Manager, I assist my team at Chef for a Night Catering with menu and party planning, food prep, shopping. But most important I truly love serving our wonderful guests on a nightly basis.

After that humble start, and over thirty years later, I have truly found my home here in Atlanta at the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse.
